Winners or runners-up were chosen at the ADG and it’s clear that period and fantasy were more important than architectural interests. The Brutalist winning the Oscar hinged upon its success here. There Will Be Blood and Lincoln have similar profiles with the former winning the ADG and the latter not. This doesn’t tell us which way the Academy will likely go, unfortunately.
