While it’s tempting to call these the Barbenheimer awards, It’s really the Barbie-plus awards. Barbie dominated with 18 nominations, though Oppenheimer, Poor Things, and Killers of the Flower Moon did quite well too. The Critics Choice tended to ignore foreign language films with Past Lives and Anatomy of a Fall the most recognized with only three apiece. Not much new here, though some faces that we thought might have shown up didn’t. I’m thinking specifically of Andrew Scott and Rachel McAdams. Other than that, these are largely familiar (or expected) selections.
