The National Board of Review is one of the weaker Oscar predictors of the major players, but getting citations can still generate buzz for your performance. This certainly helps both Giamatti and Ruffalo while potential streaks seem to be building around Lily Gladstone in her seemingly successful gambit to switch to lead and around Da’Vine Joy Randolph. The Iron Claw has done better than anyone really expected, though Oppenheimer took a real bath with this group getting nothing but a Best Of slot.
