72nd Sound Editors Guild Nominations

With two films earning 3 nominations and six earning two, we can clearly see where the excitement is. While the Motion Picture Sound Editors no longer have a forecast for the Sound Editing category that the Academy got rid of, they still give us an idea of how the sound community feels ahead of the Best Sound nominations, which include sound editors now. In light of that, let’s see what from the Academy’s shortlist is here and what isn’t. Gladiator II, Blitz, and Joker: Folie à Deux did not make it onto this list. That isn’t a good sign for those films. The other seven titles are all here. We’ll see how the Cinema Audio Society feels, there a better precursor for the category in general, and maybe we can come up with a certain list of nominees from that.
