For our August update, we’re looking at everything that has moved on to a new stage. There aren’t many at this early stage of the year but we have a few.

Moving to Stage 2

Once all of the preliminary data has been received, a film moves to Stage 2. Here are the seven who have done so this month.

Train Dreams (Stage 2 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
In the Blink of an Eye (Stage 2 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
Jay Kelly (Stage 2 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
One Battle After Another (Stage 2 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
Rental Family (Stage 2 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
Father, Mother, Sister, Brother (Stage 2 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
Long Day’s Journey Into Night (Stage 2 of 5; Pending Eligibility)

Moving to Stage 3

There are two films that have moved on to Stage 3. This means the film has released wide.

Superman (Stage 3 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
The Fantastic Four: First Steps (Stage 3 of 5; Pending Eligibility)

Moving to Stage 4

If a film has surpassed a month in release, it is eligible for a move to Stage 4. We have five films here.

28 Years Later (Stage 4 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
F1 (Stage 4 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
How to Train Your Dragon (Stage 4 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
Jurassic World Rebirth (Stage 4 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
Elio (Stage 4 of 5; Pending Eligibility)

Moving to Stage 5

This is the final stage. These films have completed their box office runs and are unlikely to have much movement in terms of their critical or audience receptions numbers.

Two films have moved into Stage 5 as of this update.

The Phoenician Scheme (Stage 5 of 5; Pending Eligibility)
The Life of Chuck (Stage 5 of 5; Pending Eligibility)

With that, the number of films at Stage 5 is fifteen.

This month, we’re going to start listing these in the order of their rank if the films were all in Stage 5. Keep in mind that some of these films are still in Stage 1 or Stage 2, which means critical reception, audience reception, and box office factors won’t have been taken into consideration on several films like Frankenstein and Hamnet, which we are expecting to do quite well.
