Winner Predictions:

Runner-Up Predictions:
Wesley Lovell Pete Patrick Thomas LaTourrette
Best Original Song for a Dramatic or Documentary Visual Media Production
Dear Me – Diane Warren: Relentless Nil
Drive – F1 TL
The Hills of Tanchico – The Wheel of Time Nil
I Lied to You – Sinners WL PP TL
Last Time (I Seen the Sun) – Sinners WL PP
Salt Then Sour Then Sweet – Come See Me in the Good Light Nil
Wesley Lovell: I can’t imagine, in this batch, “I Lied to You” not winning.
Pete Patrick: This should go to Sinners, the only question being which of the two nominated songs? I think I Lied to You has a slight edge.
Thomas La Tourrette: Without Oscar front runner Golden in the mix, it is harder to tell what will win. I think that I lied to Your from Sinners is the likely winner with Drive from F1 perhaps in a distant second spot.
Best Original Song for a Comedy or Musical Visual Media Production
The Girl in the Bubble – Wicked: For Good WL PP TL
Golden – KPop Demon Hunters WL PP TL
I Feel Alive – A Minecraft Movie Nil
No Place Like Home – Wicked: For Good Nil
Steve’s Lava Chicken – A Minecraft Movie Nil
Zoo – Zootopia 2 Nil
Wesley Lovell: It seems like “Golden” is the song of the year whether or not Academy voters will go for it or not, this group is likely to do so.
Pete Patrick: I would give it to The Girl in the Bubble from Wicked: For Good but I suspect they will go with the crowd and give it to Golden from KPop Demon Hunters.
Thomas La Tourrette: Golden should be the easy winner here. None of the others are even Oscar nominated which should make it a shoo-in.
Best Original Score for a Studio Film
Bugonia Nil
Frankenstein PP
Hamnet WL
One Battle After Another TL
Sinners WL PP TL
Wicked: For Good Nil
Wesley Lovell: Sinners likely has this one locked up and while I think One Battle could be in play, Hamnet has the most effective use of underscore and could come out on top.
Pete Patrick: Frankenstein had the stronger score, but they might give a second award to Sinners. I don’t see anything else winning this one.
Thomas La Tourrette: A precursor to the Oscar race puts Sinners against One Battle After Another. I expect Sinners to win the Oscar and it should prevail here as well.
Best Original Score for an Independent Film
Eternity TL
Out of the Nest Nil
Rental Family WL PP
Straw Nil
To Kill a Wolf Nil
Train Dreams WL PP TL
Wesley Lovell: This is probably an easy win for Train Dreams.
Pete Patrick: Train Dreams should win this hands down. Rental Family is my guess for closest runner-up.
Thomas La Tourrette: Train Dreams may have come close to netting an Oscar nomination, so it is the likely winner here.
David Raksin Award for Emerging Talent
Nil
Dr. Seuss’s The Sneetches WL
Laws of Man Nil
The Map That Leads to You TL
A Nice Indian Boy WL TL
Ride or Die Nil
Washington Black Nil
Wesley Lovell: A complete guess. None of these scores were major contenders so I can’t say that any of them stand out.
Thomas La Tourrette: I went with A Nice Indian Boy as it was the only film I had heard of or seen.
