Wesley Lovell: Oscar frontrunner Frankenstein should win. That said, the more voluminous work in Sinners, the iconic work in Weapons, the late-game prosthetic work in One Battle, and even the familiar but acclaimed work in Wicked: For Good are all amply able to stage an upset.
Pete Patrick: For prosthetics Frankenstein seems difficult to beat with Sinners probably its closest competition.

Wicked: For Good Nil
Wesley Lovell: Since this isn’t a prosthetic-focused category, it’s likely prosthetics will win the day and Frankenstein will pull out a win but any of these could possibly stage an upset.
Pete Patrick: For period make-up, Sinners seems likeliest with Weapons a distant second.
Thomas La Tourrette: Frankenstein seems the likely winner here, but cases could be made for all the others too.

Wesley Lovell: Hair styling is much easier to separate from regular makeup and prosthetic so it should go to Frankenstein, though I would be surprised if the more distinct and frequent work in Wicked: For Good could triumph.
Pete Patrick: For period hairstyling, they would seem more likely to go with Frankenstein over Sinners.
Thomas La Tourrette: I could see Frankenstein winning all three categories though Sinners could sneak in for an upset.

Wesley Lovell: Bugonia has the most complex work in this gropu but anything could conceivably win.
Pete Patrick: For contemporary make-up, I’m thinking One Battle After Another with Superman an outside possibility.
Thomas La Tourrette: Bugonia might win just for the strange things that are done to Emma Stone over the course of the film, but cases could be made for all of them.
