The PGA once tended towards populist choices but has settled firmly into ratifying critic group selections so it will be interesting to see the direction they choose to go this year.

One Battle After Another WL PP TL
Sentimental Value Nil
Sinners WL PP TL
Train Dreams Nil
Weapons Nil
Wesley Lovell: If Sinners can reignite the PGA’s populist leanings, it might create a new frontrunner by awarding it. However, One Battle After Another is still the frontrunner until the PGA says otherwise.
Pete Patrick: It should be close, I suspect they see the writing on the wall for One Battle After Another to win the Oscar and will give it their hearty endorsement.
Thomas La Tourrette: t feels almost predetermined that One Battle After Another wins this. It seems to be Paul Thomas Anderson’s year and the producers guild will go along with that. Sinners is the only film that has any chance of besting it. It was a more original film and was a certified hit at the box office, which the guild pays attention to. But this feels like it will go to One Battle After Another.
Best Animated Feature
The Bad Guys 2 Nil
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba the Movie: Infinity Castle Nil
Elio Nil
KPop Demon Hunters WL PP
Zootopia 2 WL PP
Wesley Lovell: KPop Demon Hunters has little competition unless PGA voters want to go with the bigger box office hit (since Netflix barely gave KPop a release, Zootopia 2.
Pete Patrick: Even though it was produced for Netflix, KPop Demon Hunters is too much of a hit for them to ignore.
Thomas La Tourrette: None of the other films stand a chance against KPop Demon Hunters, which has become a worldwide phenomenon. True, it had very little box office being a Netflix release, which could help Zootopia 2 take the same award its predecessor did, but that is unlikely to happen. I think the guild stays with the big name title.
Best Documentary
The Alabama Solution PP
Mr. Nobody Against Putin WL
My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay Nil
Ocean with David Attenborough Nil
The Perfect Neighbor WL PP
The Tale of Silyan Nil
Wesley Lovell: The Perfect Neighbor has been leading most of the season but the BAFTA win for Mr. Nobody Against Putin might give it a boost going into the PGA and the Oscars.
Pete Patrick: This looks like a tossup between The Perfect Neighbor and The Alabama Solution with the more popular The Perfect Neighbor having a slight edge.
Thomas La Tourrette: The Perfect Neighbor is the likely winner, even though Mr. Nobody Against Putin did just win the BAFTA. I think the guild will stick with The Perfect Neighbor.
