Oppenheimer might have come out on top of the nominations, but it did so with only three whereas six other films came in with two citations each. Of the ten films on the Academy’s shortlist, The Creator and Mission: Impossible are the only titles not here. Barbie, Maestro, Napoloeon, and Oppenheimer were the only titles from the shortlist with multiple citations. That could very well position those films as nominees with one of the remaining six filling in.
