While I may not be able to present these new features weekly, I will certainly try. One of our first new features is a full slate of predictions. On Cinema Sight, I post my Oscar Hopefuls, a list of films that are in contention for the Oscars. Some of them are pure flights of fancy, others supported by ample evidence of their capabilities. While we won’t be doing that on this site, we will be sharing all of our predictions even in categories we’re not highlighting on a monthly basis. This page will also showcase all the changes we make over time so that we can keep track of trends and you can see where our predictions change on a monthly basis.

Today, we launch of static page on our full predictions. Pete, Thomas, and I have all submitted our predictions in all but six categories. Those six are the two documentary categories, the two fiction short film categories, International Feature, and Original Song. Since the former five of these all require specialized submissions and eligibility requirements, it is nearly impossible to accurately forecast these prior to the shortlists being announced. For Original Song, a similar dynamic plays out. It’s not always easy to isolate which film songs will be able and which won’t. While there are occasionally songs that break out and seem obvious, not all of them will be. As such, we’re going to leave that category alone until the shortlists announce as well.

One thing to note. These predictions will be provided without commentary. If you want to hear our thoughts, check out our monthly updated predictions post where we’ll usually give a brief introduction to the mindset of our changes.
