Wesley Lovell: With the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild honoring the special makeup effects of The Substance, I don’t see how it loses. Even with that win, I can’t see an alternative.
Pete Patrick: The Substance should take this one easily.  If there is an upset, Nosferatu would be my guess to pull it off.
Thomas La Tourrette: The Substance has had this sewn up for ages. It has won more of the precursors than all of the other films combined. Its closest competitor is Wicked which is the only other film to have won more than one precursor and it did tie The Substance for most winsfrom the guild. None of the other nominees have any chance of pulling an upset. And truthfully, I do not think that Wicked stands much of a possibility of winning. This will undoubtedly go to The Substance.
