Wesley Lovell: All season, there has been one actor Hoovering up all of the awards and it’s Kieran Culkin. No one has managed to break his stride so it’s probably a fait accompli that he wins the prize.
Pete Patrick: I don’t expect Culkin to falter at the last minute, but if he does four-time nominee Norton could be the beneficiary of his slippage.
Thomas La Tourrette: Kieran Culkin has run away with this all season long seemingly winning every major award given out and it would be a shock if anyone but him won. Guy Pearce originally looked poised to perhaps earn an Oscar on his first nomination, but his campaign never seemed to catch on even though it was some of his best work ever. Yura Borisov never stood a chance. Jeremy Strong did impressive work as the repulsive Roy Cohn in Apprentice, but he was not going to win for that movie. Edward Norton started to show some promise of mounting a charge against Culkin but it never amounted to much either. Kieran Culkin wins this easily.
