Wesley Lovell: With the BAFTA win along with the prosthetic award at the MUAHS guild, I fully expect Frankenstein to take this but a surprise victory by any of the other candidates is possible even if remotely.
Pete Patrick: There is no way that Frankenstein is not going to win this.
Thomas La Tourrette: Even though Sinners won two guild awards compared to Frankenstein’s one, Frankenstein still had the bigger win for best special make-up prosthetics. Still, that means it is a tighter race than I imagined as I thought Frankenstein would take both the period make-up and period hair styling awards too. Both films were up against each other in each category, so the picture is more muddled now. However, with its wins at Critics Choice and BAFTA, Frankenstein should be poised to win the Oscar too.
