Wesley Lovell: Sinners has no competition here, especially with One Battle After Another in Best Adapted Screenplay. This is the most awarded original screenplay of the year so should easily win.
Pete Patrick: A no contest win for Sinners seems likely.
Thomas La Tourrette: This is one of the easiest categories to predict as Sinners has dominated original screenplay all season. It has won over 60% of the awards given out and that trend should continue at the Oscars. I do not see any of the other nominees standing a chance of winning. For a long time this felt like it would be the major award of the night for Sinners as One Battle After Another looked primed to take most of the others where they were nominated against each other, though that may be changing with a surge for Sinners. Even if it does not go on to win for picture or in any acting categories, it will definitely win here.
